For this logo, I handcrafted a look for the recruiting extraordinaire Paul DeBettignies’, (aka Minnesota Headhunter).
Paul DeBettignies came to Red Branch Media with a plan. As a leading headhunter in the Minneapolis area, he needed a logo for his career and wanted it to be perfect. After speaking with me, I was able to gather all the necessary information to start designing his logo. The creative room and permission he gave me are what made this design unique from all others we’ve created before.
Logo Must-Haves:
None. Complete creative freedom was given.
Since I had a lot of creative room to provide my take on his logo, I was able to create 6 fresh logos for Paul. Above is the board of logos I created as we progressed through Red Branch Media's 3-round process. I made sure to try a few different things relating to Minnesota and headhunting such as candidates, targets, magnifying glasses, emphasizing the letters “M” and “H” and even taking the state of Minnesota and emphasizing the face shape that naturally appears on the right border of Minnesota in logo #6 above. Since there was no color preference, I tried a variety of bold and strong colors to symbolize his work ethic. I mainly used sans serif fonts but tried 1 slab serif for the sake of additional options. This process went smoothly, and Paul was able to choose the logo you’ve seen today.
Paul chose logo #2 from the board above. This logo was a great choice because of its ability to work as a horizontal or vertical logo better than any others on the board. It also lets the viewer know what he does, right when they see the logomark of a candidate inside a magnifying glass, signifying that he specializes in finding the perfect candidates. What’s more, is that the sans serif font that is used in this logo is a contemporary style that will prove timeless in the long run since it’s a very new style. I couldn’t be happier with his decision, because I worked hard to make sure I delivered the perfect logo to represent his reputation.
This logo was one of the smoothest processes yet. From collecting logo notes to utilizing the creative room I was given, I delivered a timeless logo that represents Paul’s career to the fullest.
